This is a great museum! A wonderful way to spend an afternoon in New Haven.
Another excellent museum option just down the street from the Yale University Art Gallery.
The Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library is one of the world's largest libraries devoted entirely to rare books and manuscripts. It's a beautiful building and a unique space to checkout. You also can checkout an original Gutenberg Bible!
This library is beautiful! If you go before 6pm, you shouldn't need a Yale ID to enter. This was one of the first places I (Emily) went to check out when I arrived on campus and I had a real "am I at Hogwarts?" moment. It's a real treat! I wish I had had any time free from working to actually study here.
Take in a show at Emily's former stomping grounds! Yale Repertory Theatre was the professional theater tied to the Yale School of Drama (now the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale) where students would work professionally while completing their training. They produce new and classic works and is bound to give you a wonderful production, just don't skip our wedding to see a show. It won't be that good.
Check out the spot where Drew spent most of his time at Yale! Visitors to the School are welcome to check out the Yale Architecture Gallery, located on the second floor of Paul Rudolph Hall.
If you're looking to get a little hike in, go checkout East Rock Park. Not far from campus and a beautiful spot to overlook the city of New Haven.
Let's get to the important things -- New Haven Pizza. There are delicious spots to get pizza in New Haven. If you're looking for something walkable from the Omni Hotel, try BAR. A favorite of ours and easily accessible!
Another classic pizza option in New Haven. The classics are Sally's and Frank Pepe's but when people are asked which of those is their favorite, many will say, actually I prefer Modern. And, per Drew, this is the easiest spot to get a table.
Get ready to wait in line at this one but one of the "classic" best pizza places in New Haven. Well known for their white clam pie. Crispy crust, often with a singed bottom.
Another authentic New Haven pizza place. Crispy crust, chewy center, charred on the bottom. Try all the pizza places and report back on your favs!
