The town of Mendocino has quaint and charming boutiques, art galleries, and historic sites, in addition to some lovely beaches and rivers. Here are some of our favorite spots and things to do: FOOD Fog Eater Cafe Pattersons Pub Mendocino Market The Good Life Cafe THINGS TO DO (these require reservations) Catch a Canoe - beautiful, unique redwood outrigger canoes, kayaks, bicycles for rent Skunk Train - historic train rides and unique railbikes Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens - amazing dahlia collection that might just be blooming

On the way to Mendocino

There's so much beautiful scenery and delicious food and wine between the Bay Area and Mendocino. Here are some of our favorite things along the way, in no particular order: FOOD Sebastopol: Handline (seafood), Mom’s Pies Santa Rosa: Grossman's Jewish deli Jenner: Cafe Aquatica Boonville: Boonville General Store (great sandwiches), Husch and other local wineries (tastings are free!) NATURE & SCENERY Jenner: park and watch the seals hang out where the Russian River meets the ocean Point Arena Coastal Bluffs Guerneville: Armstrong Redwoods State Park Philo: Hendy Woods State Park Navarro: Navarro River Redwoods State Park Albion: Navarro Point Preserve (find the bench overlooking the ocean that is Steph’s favorite spot!)
