Things To Do

Newport Beach & Boardwalk

Boardwalk, Newport Beach, CA 92660

We have taken many walks on this beach and boardwalk, and it is just a few steps from the Church!

Balboa Peninsula / The Wedge

Newport Beach, CA

If you're looking for a fun night out on NYE or over the weekend, this is the best spot around! Or, during the day, travel to the end of Balboa Boulevard and visit The Wedge (https://visitnewportbeach.com/surfline-cam-wedge/), known worldwide for awesome (i.e., awe-inspiring) surf. If the surf isn’t pumping when you’re there, you can always sit at the jetty and watch the boats come in and out of the harbor or catch the sunset as it melts into the Pacific Ocean.

Balboa Island & Ferry

510 Palm Street, Newport Beach, CA 92661

Our first date spot! Enjoy a scenic walk along the waterfront, especially at night when the houses on the island are beautifully decorated in sparkling festive lights for Christmastime! And don't forget to try a frozen banana or hippo cookie from Dad's or stop by the taffy store for some sweet treats, too. You can even take the ferry from the Balboa Peninsula to get there — drive or walk across the bay for $2-$3 bucks, a ride you won't forget!

Crystal Cove Trail

Newport Beach, CA 92657

A beautiful (and easy) hiking spot! Try the El Moro Canyon Loop Trail! ($15/Vehicle day use fee.)

Roger's Gardens

2301 San Joaquin Hills Road, Newport Beach, CA 92625

A beautiful nursery and garden center with holiday displays and shops!

Orange Circle Antique Mall

South Glassell Street, Orange, CA 92866

Located within blocks of our Reception venue, Old Towne Orange comprises antique and collectibles dealers, specialty shops, art galleries, and restaurants, and is beautifully decorated for Christmas.

In-N-Out Burger

594 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92627

The classic California burger joint! Pro-tip: The double-double, animal-style (secret menu item: mustard fried patties with dill pickles, grilled onions and extra spread) with 'light-well' fries. Trust us!

Fashion Island / South Coast Plaza

Newport Beach / Costa Mesa, CA

As Orange County's premier shopping destinations, Fashion Island (Newport Beach) and South Coast Plaza (Costa Mesa) feature exclusive specialty boutiques, world-class department stores and a diverse assortment of restaurants and cafes. Both offer a sophisticated yet relaxed, resort-like atmosphere that is distinctively Southern California, if you want to wile away time window-shopping, people watching, or just relaxing.

Pelican Hill Golf Club

22800 South Pelican Hill Road, Newport Beach, CA 92657

With the Ocean North and Ocean South Courses, Tom Fazio’s vision has been brought to life in its purest form. 36 holes of championship golf weave their way through stunning terrain and breathtaking vistas, with every lie, every shot and every hole designed to perfectly complement the natural landscape.
