Cocktail...described to us as chic, sophisticated and polished—but not full-on formal. Gentlemen need not worry about a tuxedo; a tailored suit (with or without a tie) is perfect. Ladies can wear a dress or elegant separates—as long as they're still dressy. This is an ideal occasion to break out a little black (or colorful) dress. Avoid styles like sundresses, which are too casual for this type of event. Cocktail attire straddles the line between formal and casual, which—we know—can make it a little tricky to navigate. When in doubt, err on the side of more formal.

Orange County has beautiful weather in January, it’s just a bit chillier than in the summer months. Average daytime temperatures run around 65°F and nighttime lows dip to 47°F. January weather is mostly sunny with the occasional rain shower!
The beach is lovely at this time of year! January at the beach offers a quieter, more peaceful version of this iconic Southern California destination. Fewer crowds mean easier access to attractions like Balboa Island and the Newport Beach Boardwalk, and we love the laid-back vibe of the 'off-season' here. Picture yourself strolling along the shore or boardwalk, catching a sunset, taking a plunge in the Pacific Ocean (it's chilly...usually about 58°F), spotting migrating shorebirds, or enjoying a cozy bonfire with friends (on Friday night!). Be sure to layer your winter beach outfits with ever-changing temperatures.
