Everyone is welcome to enjoy all that camp has to offer - activities will be open all day for guests to participate in! Tennis, basketball, softball, butts up, street hockey, and swimming and skiing on the lake!
There are three great local hikes within a 10 minute drive of camp, all of which take about 45 minutes, round trip. Easiest: Hawk Mountain - this is an old, mellow logging road which brings you to great views of the surrounding lakes and mountains Moderate: Mount Tirem - located in the center of Waterford, this moderate climb provides fantastic views of Bear Pond with a "Bear cave" at the top! More Difficult: Bear Mountain - this steep but short climb is a local classic with incredible views of Bear Pond and camp. The trail can be hard to find so ask Rachel or Red for directions! *Red and Rach both recommend running back from these hikes and cooling off with a dip in Bear Lake
Red and Rachel love to take advantage of the great running routes around camp. Bear Pond Road (left out of Camp's driveway) turns into a dirt road with limited traffic - great for a short run! If you want to make your run longer, take a jog around the whole lake which is about a 4-mile run!
Visit downtown Bridgton for local shopping (at Reny's - a Maine institution), coffee shops, boutiques and antique shops, book stores, restaurants and ice cream stands. See a movie at the Magic Lantern movie theater or catch a drive-in movie at Bridgton Twin Drive-In. Bridgton is also the location of the closest grocery stores (Hannaford and Food City), gas stations....and the closest stop light to camp!
