Question

What about COVID-19?

Answer

Your health and safety are our priority. We are proceeding with the wedding as planned in hopes that the pandemic will be increasingly controlled by June. We are committed to abiding by local recommendations and requirements to the best of our ability. For now, please plan to bring and wear a mask, and monitor your health the two weeks prior to the wedding. If you are able, please consider getting vaccinated and/or receiving a negative Covid-19 test prior to arriving. If there is any health concern before or after the wedding, please take care of your health first and foremost, and keep us updated. We will advise you of any changes to this plan as we get closer to the event so you can plan accordingly.

Question

What is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by May 18. This will give us time to coordinate final plans with our reception venue, as well as make any necessary Covid-19-related adjustments. Don't forget to respond to all events (not just the ceremony) and the questions about meal preference, etc., please!

Question

What if I have trouble RSVP-ing on the website?

Answer

No worries! Be sure to type your first and last name as printed on the envelope of your invitation. Then you should be able to RSVP for all events. If you're still having trouble, just give Rebekah a call (her number is on the details card included with your invitation; be sure to leave a message if it goes to voicemail!) and she'll mark you down.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00, so please plan to arrive a little early, perhaps around 3:45, to find a seat and get settled.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please think along the lines of "cocktail" and "semi-formal" when deciding what you'll wear. But y'all, let's be real, it's June in South Texas. While our ceremony and reception will be inside (thank goodness for A/C!), please do wear whatever will make you feel both classy and comfortable.

Question

Can I bring another guest?

Answer

We did our best to thoughtfully and clearly address each invitation to indicate the number of seats reserved for you. If you have someone particular in mind whom you'd like to bring but you don't have a plus-1 spot, you can call us for reconsideration.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We anticipate that most of the children present will belong to our close family. We did our best to consider our guests' families and clearly address the invitations to indicate the number of seats reserved for you. If you have any questions or want to discuss your particular situation, please call us.

Question

Is transportation provided?

Answer

We ask that you make plans to transport yourself. Most hotels provide free shuttle service to/from the airport, and Uber/Lyft operate in the city on a limited basis. We recommend planning to rent a vehicle and/or carpooling during the weekend. If you have any concerns, please let us know and we'll do our best to help you coordinate transportation.

Question

What's the parking situation?

Answer

The ceremony will be at Grace UMC, where there is plenty of open parking. If you are a guest of the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel, you can self-park in the garage for free. Other guests can park for free across the street on Shoreline Boulevard/Ocean Drive closest to the water or in the metered spots along any side street during the reception.

Question

What can we do between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

It's an easy 20-25 minute drive from Grace UMC to the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel. Once you arrive, you have the option to enjoy some tasty snacks and chillax during our cocktail hour, get some fresh air and take in the scenery as you walk along the bay, or even take a nap! The wedding party will join you as soon as they can after photographs are completed.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have set up room blocks at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel and the Best Western Grand Marina Hotel on Shoreline Boulevard. Please be sure to use the event codes when you book your room to receive the discounted rate. Book ASAP because rooms are going fast for the summertime crush!

Question

I have a food allergy; can I make a special request?

Answer

We are working with our caterer to provide a filling breakfast-for-dinner with plenty of options for everyone. If you need a clearly vegetarian or allergy-sensitive meal, however, you can indicate that when you RSVP. If you have any additional concerns, please give us a call.

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

The greatest gift you can give us is your presence and support as we celebrate our marriage! If you would like to give us a gift, we are registered through Zola and Amazon (click the "Registry" tab on this site to check them out!).

Question

Can we go to the beach?

Answer

Definitely! You can enjoy the beaches of Padre Island and Corpus Christi Bay on your own all weekend. Plus, if you're not leaving Corpus Christi first thing Saturday morning, the newlyweds will be hanging out on one of the beaches on Padre Island, and we would love for you to join us (and if the beach is absolutely packed, we'll let you know of any alternative plan)! Heads up, Padre Island does require beach parking permits (which you can get at any gas station on the Island) unless you go to the one next to the Holiday Inn Express on the Island (where the day-after party will be), which has a free parking lot.

Question

I'm staying through Sunday morning - where can I worship?

Answer

There are many places to worship in a wide variety of religious traditions in Corpus Christi. Ask us for a recommendation, or please join our families at one of these locations (Grace UMC and St. Andrew are about a 20-minute drive from the Omni Hotel; the Cathedral and FUMC are very close to the Omni Hotel): Grace United Methodist Church, services at 9:00 (contemporary) and 11:00 (traditional) First United Methodist Church, services at 7:30 (outside*), 9:00 (contemporary), and 11:00 (traditional) St. Andrew by the Sea Catholic Church, mass at 8:30 (outside*) and 11:00 (inside) Corpus Christi Cathedral, mass at 9:30, 11:00 (Spanish), and 12:30 *this is an outdoor church, so dress comfortably!
