Rebekah and Alex made a connection in 2018 with a little help from a dating app. After about a week of texting, Alex made his move and asked Rebekah to go out on a date. They went bowling (so much fun, even if Alex won every time), and engaged in heartfelt conversation right off the bat. The evening wrapped up far too soon, but it was just the beginning of their story. Alex knew from the start that Rebekah was someone special, and it didn't take long for Rebekah to return the sentiment. Many movies, beach hang-outs, dolphin sightings, delicious meals, and stargazing adventures later, they finally decided to put a name to what was growing between them.
Alex had a whole romantic plan to send Rebekah home for the holidays with a certain piece of jewelry. Alas, it didn’t happen as planned, and it didn't help that Rebekah was hard to surprise! In the end, Alex took Rebekah to The Glass Pavilion on January 10, 2020 for dinner with a sunset view of Corpus Christi Bay. After a delicious meal, complete with an enormous piece of chocolate cake, Alex started trying to sneakily arrange for the big kneel: he put the bag of leftovers down next to his chair, then “dropped” his napkin...finally, he simply asked Rebekah to stand up so he could do it properly, grabbed the ring box, and knelt to ask the ever important question! Obviously, she said yes.
