Our love story began in 7th grade at Bishop Seabury. Miles's first memory of me (Rebecca) involves tears shed over Ms. Galas's infamous human essay - a shared struggle for all Seabury students. Little did we know, this was just the start of our journey. Throughout high school, we danced between friendship and attempted romance, discovering that timing wasn't on our side. Despite the bumps, we remained close, and after our high school graduation, our bond deepened over summer nights filled with reality dating shows, swimming, dining out, and 4th July explosions. The end of that memorable summer marked a bittersweet departure as Miles headed to college. However, distance couldn't weaken our connection; we supported each other through freshmen challenges and tough realizations about chosen paths. In the winter of 2016, our story took a turn. Miles planned what he thought was a "first" date, while I saw it as friends hanging out. Once the miscommunication was cleared, our fate was sealed. For three and a half years, we faced the challenges of a long-distance relationship, standing strong together. In winter 2017, Miles gave me a promise ring during our one-year anniversary in New York City. Little did we know that five years later, he would propose in Central Park -- fulfilling my vision of the perfect proposal, even though I had inadvertently spoiled the surprise for myself. Our journey is a testament to love overcoming obstacles and the beauty of shared dreams, from failing essays to Central Park proposals.
