If you've got any questions, hit us up. There are myriad other hotels in and around NYC if you'd like us to recommend additional options. We'd be happy to help guide you and make sure you enjoy your time in Brooklyn.

Flight

JFK Airport

Chances are you have heard either one or both of us singing the praises of the Long Island Railroad (LIRR), which we sometimes refer to as our own private airport shuttle. This is your moment to ride it, lucky you. At JFK, follow the signs for the AirTrain which you will take to Jamaica Station. You’ll need to pay to exit the AirTrain by tapping a credit card. (It’s $8.50 per person.) At Jamaica, you’re going to want to buy a ticket for the next train bound for Atlantic Terminal. (You’re going to want a City Ticket, which should be between $5-$7.) From there, you can take the subway to your hotel. There is also a second Air Train that takes you to Howard Beach to transfer to the A or C trains, which might be more efficient for some hotels. Your route will vary depending on where in the city you are staying. Google Maps is a reliable guide. If you want to take an Uber or Lyft from JFK, be prepared you may have to take a shuttle to a separate parking lot where they allow pickups. It’s kind of a pain, frankly, and driving from JFK can be slow and trafficky at peak times. If you’re physically up for it, we really recommend the AirTrain/LIRR option. If you've never flown into JFK before and want some extra guidance, we are here for you!

Flight

LaGuardia Airport

Plan to take an Uber or Lyft from the airport to your hotel. There are public transit options, but to be honest they involve a bus and at least two different trains. If that’s your vibe ... be ready.

Flight

Newark Airport

This is in New Jersey! Which is, notably, not New York! Still, it's fairly accessible if this is your best flight option. If you're flying through Newark, or thinking about it, let us know and we'll guide you accordingly. (As of May, Newark is having a significant issue with flight delays just FYI!)

Train

Amtrak

Ah, Amtrak. We love you. We hate you. We've taken you many times. A good option for guests coming from DC, Boston and Albany. Upon arrival, there are plenty of subway options from Penn Station or grab a cab or Uber to get to your hotel.

Travel Note

Getting Around New York

We’re taking the subway on our wedding day and you should, too! We encourage you to use public transit whenever possible to get around during our wedding weekend. It’s the cheapest and often fastest way to get anywhere in the city and you can simply tap your credit card at the turnstile to pay per ride. (Press it against the reader and hold it there until the light turns green and you see the word “GO!”) That said, if you’re not able to ride the subway or simply don’t want to deal – we’ve all been there – Ubers and Lyfts are plentiful 24/7. (There’s also taxis, of course, but those can be difficult to hail outside of Manhattan.)
