A perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. If you follow us on Instagram, you already know. Pick up a coffee at Bittersweet and stroll the market where you can find produce, baked goods and artisan crafts. There's usually a jazz combo playing! We're planning to pay it an early visit on our wedding day.
Takeaway coffee and pastries. Great sandwiches, too. Rebecca likes the "Hangover Helper" while Madison is partial to their salami and butter offering which she says makes her feel like a "French toddler."
Don't let the long line scare you off, it moves fast and the pastries are worth it! It's inside a wine bar, so don't be confused by the signs. Excellent french pastries and sandwiches and coffee.
A Brooklyn staple, great for a morning stroll. Shoutout our friend Jen who worked on Seydou Keïta: A Tactile Lens, a show opening there the same weekend as our wedding!
The daughters really know how to slice a salmon. Great appetizing — bagels, whitefish, lox, yum — and an NYC staple.
Delicious Montreal-style bagels very close to the Ace and the Holiday Inn.
Coffee spot near some of our hotels. So many plants inside!
One of our favorite spots and where we spent the evening the night Rebecca proposed. If you're in town Friday, go for an early round or a nightcap. It gets absolutely packed. Order the cheese curds and a gimlet or a white negroni spagliato. (Madison and Rebecca's drinks, respectively.)
Our favorite Italian food in the city. Agnolotti del plin and smoked spaghetti are our usuals.
BYOB Palestinian spot with incredible food and generous portions. Bring your appetite and a group.
French brasserie that does a great stack of pancakes. Go for breakfast. Bring cash. First come, first served so go early or be prepared to wait a bit. Lots of good shopping nearby, including Books are Magic, an excellent, author-owned indie bookstore with a pink mural outside.
Adorable restaurant that is great for any meal. Make a res, they have a lovely backyard. (If you go for brunch, order a pancake for the table.)
A hard-to-get table at a Fort Greene hotspot but if you can snag a res, go for literally any meal. If you arrive 20 or so minutes before they open on Saturday or Sunday morning, you can often walk in for brunch.
A lovely, flat stroll — or run, if you're inclined — with great landscaping and even better views of the Manhattan skyline. Extra beautiful at sunset and into the early night.
A jewel box shop for homewares and sundries. If you go, say hello to Stacey at our wedding who makes sure the shop's fridge and shelves are stocked with delicious goodies. A quick ride on the G train from Fort Greene.
A speciality grocer where Rebecca has lost hours of her life happily. Stop in for nuts and dried fruits and amazing hummus. (And literally anything else you could possibly want.)
