To ensure the health and safety of each guest, Rebecca and John have decided to cancel the October 24 wedding date. However, they will be having a micro-wedding with immediate family only during Labor Day weekend. To celebrate Rebecca and John's nuptials, the Schefkind family will be throwing a party in Washington, D.C. on October 2, 2021. Please mark your calendars. More details to come.
Rebecca and John met in Charm City. Rebecca was interviewing at the ad agency John was working at. Though the two exchanged all of five words that day—"Hi, good to meet you"—it was enough for John to see that Rebecca was really pretty. And enough for him to casually stalk her and notice that she was a fellow Syracuse alum. This was his "in." The following day, John sent Rebecca a message on LinkedIn, asking if she had any questions about the agency that he could answer candidly. She didn’t. But it turns out she thought John was cute, too. So the two exchanged a few more messages, and a couple weeks later when Rebecca started working at the agency, they immediately hit it off. Soon after that, they started dating. So, for the record, John and Rebecca's relationship didn't start on a dating app. It started on a job app. A job app that Rebecca now works for. Yes, it was all meant to be.
Although Rebecca and John met in Baltimore, and are now living in San Francisco, The District is most representative of their relationship, and who they are. Not only was Rebecca born and raised in nearby Bethesda, but John lived in D.C. for six years—even while working in Baltimore and dating Rebecca. The two have made many great memories together in our nation's capital, and are excited to make even more with you during their special day.
