Flight
The airport is about 1 hour outside the center of town before traffic gets crazy as the city wakes up. Most international flights will arrive early in the morning around 4 or 5 am. There's no need to rush to get flights yet! I will usually buy flights ~3 months in advance.
Travel Note
Of note India requires a visa for US travelers (because we require one for them haha) so make sure to apply for one well in advance! Most US citizens will get easy approval for the visa very quickly, but it's best to apply with plenty of time to spare.
Hotel
The hotel website is under construction so the next best I found is this trip advisor one. This is where the wedding ceremony and reception will be held, but if there are plenty of hotels in Bangalore and there will be no shortage of rickshaws the night of the reception to get back to wherever you are staying. I would recommend hotels around Jayamahal/Palace grounds area or nearby on Mahatma Gandhi Road (called MG Road). Dane and I will be staying near MG Road at my family's home (between the parts of town called Shanthala Nagar and Jogupalya), though the night of the reception is TBD! I'm sure there's lot of nice Airbnb's also these days. Bangalore is a popping city so I would trust them!
Train
Bangalore is a very large, sprawling city, so Namma Metro is the awesome train around! The auto rickshaws are very fun and definitely an experience, but if you get tired of the Bangalore traffic, I highly recommend giving it a try. It was finished in our part of town about 5 years ago so it's fairly new and very nice :)
