Maple Street Biscuit Company- Johnson City
This is Bennett and I's favorite breakfast/brunch place. They have the best biscuits and gravy, waffles and maple vanilla latte! Our favorite thing on the menu is the Five and Dime which is fried chicken, cheese, egg and bacon all in between a biscuit with gravy on top. But, you can also get all items a la carte.
Southern Craft BBQ
A nice urban, idustrial and modern place to grab BBQ. They have southern sides that are to die for and shrip tacos that are Becca's favorite!
First Watch - University Commons
A popular breakfast/brunch place in Johnson City. This is always Becca's go-to for breakfast dates to catch up with people, a great omlet and an amazing atmosphere!
Roan Mountain State Park
An easy, classic hike that is a must see! It is located in Carter County just an hour from Johnson City and will give you the best view of the surrounding mountains.
Beauty Spot Gap
Beauty spot is the easiest hike in the area. It is a short two minute hike to the top but gives you a breathtaking view of the mountains. Beauty spot is part of the Appalachian Trail and is the best spot to watch the sunset.
Blackbird Bakery
Blackbird is a 24 hour bakery located in Bristol, TN/VA. Blackbird is short 30 minute drive from Johnson City and is well worth the drive! They have every kind of sweet treat you could think of.
Gatlinburg
Gatlinburg is located two hours away from Johnson City in the Smokey Mountains. It is a great spot for a day trip or to stay a few days before or after the wedding. They have tons of cabins to rent and hotels to stay in as well as things to do. A few of our favorite things are the new Skybridge (suspension bridge over the Smokey Mountains), hiking spots, Dollywood and the Tanger Outlets.
Jonesborough
This historic town is small, but full of lots of fun things to do. Downtown Jonesborough is full of quilt shops, antique shops and one of Becca's favorite coffee shops, The Corner Cup!
Open Doors Coffeehouse
The best local coffee shop! Becca recommends the Open Doors Mocha.
