Growing up in church together and being friends for most of our lives, makes for a less dramatic "How We Met" story. It would go something like this: We sat next to each other in the pews at church and played. However, we certainly came to the realization of our love for one another in different ways and at different times and thought it more fitting to share those moments. Becky: On a Sunday afternoon, after playing soccer at Clover Park with Tony and our friends, we made our way back to the bleachers to rest. Tony and I were strolling and talking about relationships, while everyone else walked on ahead (we were just friends at the time). He talked about the qualities he would look for in a wife and ended it with saying, "The woman you marry should be your best friend. That's the best kind of marriage. Marrying your best friend." I smiled and that's when I knew. Tony: It is still boggles my mind the fact that I am marrying my best friend from church... All the years we spent playing, going to Sunday school, participating in church dramas, and just going out to eat after a long youth service, all lead up to prepare us for this moment. Granted... it took me a lot longer to come to the realization that the girl I had grown up with would grow to be the woman I would love for the rest of my life... The moment I knew started actually in our second attempt at dating (yes... we tried a previous time to date and that ended horribly) We met up at USC's Village late at night, to discuss college preparation for my younger brother and his friends from church. However, I had an additional plan in mind... to ask her out a second time. I knew in my heart this had to be serious. I prayed to God that this work for the long haul. So I swallowed my pride (of course) and asked her if we could start over... completely over... as if we had just met. She said yes... from that day I knew I was going to commit to getting to know her and falling in love with her.
