Ben's Corner

This is the section of the wedding website that Ben has full access to edit without Rebecca's revisions. Well well well. Looks like I've got some typing to do. This was originally the FAQ page so let's start off with the FAQs!
Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Ask one of us for a plus one! So we can say no! No I'm just kidding... probably... You can try your luck

Question

You guys are pretty young! You've got your entire lives ahead of you!

Answer

That's not a question. But it is true. But that's pretty much true regardless of when a couple gets married. So it's a silly point to make.

Question

What was your favorite date?

Answer

What a tough question! Honestly we had a ton of great dates. We had a lot of fun at the Morristown Game Vault early on, cooking meals together at my brother's apartment. But I think our best dates were in south Jersey while Rebecca was going to Stockton University. It was tough to be long distance but I would take the 2 hour drive after my classes at Rutgers Newark ended to pick her up! We'd get bubble tea at Bambu, then go to lake Absegami for the sunset or Batsto village or Mullica River! The Pine Barrens have this amazing smell and this silence that is weighty and unbreakable and wonderful. The flowers and fauna there are diverse, and unique, and the sunsets are stunning. We'd stay out till it was dark, get Maurizio's pizza, eat in the car and watch Bob's burgers or the Crown covered in blankets while the weather dropped below freezing temperatures. I'd stay out too late every time, get home around midnight or later, and then have to go to work the next morning! Every week!

Question

Garter?

Answer

Pervert.

Question

What shows do you guys watch?

Answer

Rebecca watches a lot of YouTube cooking shows, Downton Abbey, the Crown, Cobra Kai with her sister... I've seen a lot. I don't know. Bob's burgers, Frasier, Scrubs, a lot!

Question

Well now we have a bunch of Downton Abbey questions! Did you cry when Sybil died?

Answer

You're no longer invited

Question

Do you expect people to read all your FAQ's?

Answer

Yes and there will be a test later

Question

Favorite restaurant?

Answer

The Blue Cafe in Basking Ridge. Really solid farm to table. We just discovered Sweet Basil's cafe though and we're pretty impressed with it

Question

Music?

Answer

Oh great question. Yes, Music. We're big fans. If you have any songs you'd like to hear during dinner or dancing you can text me at 973-735-7441 with your song and when you'd like to hear it!

Question

So what's the story with the invites?

Answer

DONT GET US STARTED! We found this neat app so we could send a unique photo to each person we invited and kind of have this timeline and map of our dating history! BUT! the first batch we sent out didn't have the frickin' website with ALL the information! So we contacted the company, got a partial refund (partial???) and no help. So, I sent a test invite to my beautiful fiancé, and it was just never delivered! So now there's about 2 months until our wedding and we edit our invites, make the text smaller, and resend confident. Today, (4/16) I got a text that the giant second mass invite also doesn't have the URL, the test one I sent to Rebecca got delivered with the website! What the heck! It was so much work! So go look at the postcard section and see what we were trying for, OK? And if anyone asks, we got it right on the first try.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

WHAT?! What wedding do you think you're going to?! Uh, yeah there is, it's Whatever car you drove to the hotel in! Geez! The Audacity!

Question

What's your favorite musical?

Answer

Rebecca: (Recorded without her knowing) To watch? Ugh, I don't know... I mean I love fiddler [on the roof], it's definitely my favorite... other than fiddler?... tch.... I also really like Hairspray. I'm not white enough or dark enough to be in that show but it's fun. Favorite to be in? Probably Fiddler. I really liked Joseph. I really liked South Pacific [Where she got to kiss another man???? She just said she loved the cast "other" than that guy she kissed. Nice save Rebecca.] Why? For my favorite: Little shop of Horrors (Its about plants!) but I also really like the music to Joseph.. That's all I got to say... Not gonna *brag* about my preferences like that person abooove me

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

You haven't RSVP'd yet??? But we finally sent you the link like last week!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

no

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

It's literally like one click over. You had to read past it to get my corner

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

I mean, if your request is food related I guess. You can't just be like "wear this hat I made you because I have a food allergy." That's weird Stephen. Stop it

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We'd prefer if they were your own but I guess any will do

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

I mean we have appetizers but uh, sure

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

On time

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Rebecca said so. So I guess her not editing my corner doesn't mean she can't influence it... With an iron fist

Question

Ben! I hear you've written a lot of poems? Is that true?

Answer

It is! I'll share some!

Question

I don't think I ever titled this one!

Answer

I write poems about where I go or frustrations to work through or quirky thoughts that come to mind but rarely about you. I've often wondered why that's so and worry the answers grim, but I think that when I'm with you I want and have no whim. I write of the wind that rustles through my hair the heat of sun or cool of day The ebbing tide that laps with care Clouds that rush but not you who stay So when you come up close to me hand in hand and when, you lay your head upon my chest I just can never find my pen

Question

"Nothing Lasts Forever"

Answer

They say that nothing lasts forever, and there’s a chance that may be true But I think that I’ll die first before the thought of me’n’you; They say that nothing lasts forever but frankly I don’t care their love’s so shallow and lives so short I doubt their judgements fair; If nothing lasts forever, and you feel nothing, right? then snuggle up real close to me and let me hold you tight; They say that nothing lasts forever, but I’ve seen time stand still, if nothing lasts forever then we’ve got time to kill; If nothing lasts forever and you have had your fill I’ll wait till your less sated forever I’ll wait until; If nothing lasts forever but some things lasts awhile, then stay with me a while longer and see how it suits your style; If nothing lasts forever and it seems that it may be true let's not let that stop us Be mine, I’m yours, say “I do.”

Question

This one doesn't have anything to do with Rebecca I just like it

Answer

I’ve never seen a painting of the sea That captures just everything it seems to be And when pictures came you’d think they’d show The frothing tide ebb and flow But nothing seems to capture it all The peace the fight the build and fall The diamonds shimmering upon the waves And the peace it shutters and panic staves The constant continuity of it being And the perpetual mutability it’s always brewing

Question

Here's one of my first poems! It's called "write a poem"

Answer

Write a poem A simple rhyme They're fairly easy They don't take much time poems can be sweet others quite sour But a poem is neat No matter it's power Some poems can rhyme every line Others will keep in verse or simply keep in time No matter which, they're both quite fine A loose set of rules, so no one will cower When working a rhyme, the talents will tower! Write a poem about family or friends Or maybe a pet or a flower No matter the end Whether sadness or pleasure It's perfect to swirl them together until quite the right blend And if someone says "well that's not right" Then show them this poem! And your case it'll defend! Poems are a personal style  An undying trend They can last a minute or travel a mile So listen close, my dearest of child Anyone can write a rhyme Or even a poem So never think "I don't have the time" I tell you the poem is fine So if it's not good enough never you mind A simple silly poem, Is rather sublime
