So there they were.... in the Dominican Republic. Emily and Zach were on vacation with their families who both coincidentally decided to book the same snorkeling/scuba diving excursion. En route to the dive site, Zach overheard two American girls (Emily and her sister, Chelsea) talking and decided to strike up a conversation. Emily was not super interested in making small talk with a stranger but luckily Chelsea kept the conversation going. After snorkeling and scuba diving, the rest of the afternoon was spent on the beach where Zach, Emily, and Chelsea continued chatting. It was then time to leave the beach and take a skiff back to the main boat, which was docked out at sea. Emily purposefully waited until the last skiff so that she could sit next to Zach... making her move. Once back on land, Zach and Emily exchanged phone numbers and on the drive back to their separate resorts, they realized they were less than a mile apart from one another. After a brief text exchange, Zach came over to Emily's resort where they stayed up all night talking and enjoying each others company. They eventually went their separate ways but kept in touch via FaceTime, text, and Snapchat. A few weeks later Zach asked Emily to fly down to Wichita Falls, Texas to visit him at his pilot training base. After consulting with multiple friends and Chelsea, she bravely agreed. The rest is history!
