Maid of Honor
"Hi, my name is Jesalyn, and I am so happy for my mom and Scotty. I can’t wait for their big day and to see them start this new chapter together."
Maid of Honor
Evi is my younger sister, and I’ve always been protective of her. I would always tell her, “If anyone picks on you, let me know, and I’ll take care of it.” She’s the sweetest person I know. So, when she told me someone was interested in her, I knew I had to see if he would protect her the way I would. The moment I met Scotty, I just knew he was perfect for her. God truly knew what He was doing when He brought them together. Thank you, Scotty, for loving my sister and my niece—it means the world to me.

Evelin is my younger sister, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this beautiful wedding. From the moment Scotty entered her life, I could see the happiness he brought her. The smile she has when she’s with him says it all. This wedding marks the beginning of a new adventure they’ve both been waiting for, and I pray that God continues to bless and guide them as they commit to each other in this new chapter. I wish you both endless love, laughter, and joy as you start this beautiful journey together. With Jesalyn by your side, I have no doubt you’ll build a family filled with support, love, and unforgettable memories. Now, let the party begin!!!

Evi is my baby sister, and I have so many fond memories of her growing up. I’m incredibly proud of the woman she has become. I’m so happy that she has found a best friend in Scotty with whom she’ll share her life. I’m not always great with words (and she knows that!), but I want to wish them both all the blessings in this new chapter of their lives. I’d like to leave them with one of my favorite quotes: "Let there be spaces in togetherness, and let the words of heaven dance between you. Love one another, but make not a bond of love; let it be rather a moving sea between the shores of your souls." – Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet. Love you Coquito ♥️💋

"I'm Lissette and I am so honored to be one of Evelin's bridesmaids. I have known her since she was born as our parents have known each other for decades. I am extremely excited to be a part of the wedding of the year and I'm so happy for Evelin as she deserves all the best in this world."

I first met Evi during my freshman year of college at a recruitment event, and then again by chance at Walmart. Little did she know at the time, she made such a lasting impression on both me and my mom. Evi was the reason I joined Sigma Lambda Gamma, and because of her, we've built a lifelong sisterhood. I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of her wedding party. When Evi first told me about Scotty, I couldn’t have been happier for her. The way he patiently waited for her, making sure she was ready, truly speaks to the depth of their love. It’s such an honor to stand by her side. I wish them both a lifetime of love, laughter, and joy as they begin this beautiful new chapter together. 🩷💜

I am thrilled to have experienced a decade-long connection with Evelin, which has given us the gift of watching each other's growth and happiness unfold. I am honored that she has chosen me to be a part of her and Scotty's special day.

Best Man
I can’t remember if Damion Taylor introduced us, but I do know we met in Hall 16 at SFA. We instantly became friends and built a lifelong brotherhood. That brotherhood was really shown on a day that included many hours at Bodacious BBQ and stranded on I-20, a white Chrysler LeBaron, and 2-4 cd’s. No details needed but we both know (lol). A day I will never forget. Appreciation would be an understatement. Thanks for always being a true Brother, Riggo.
Best Man
The first time I met Scotty. L. Riggans was in the Fall of 1997 in Hall 16 at SFASU. We shared similar interests and eventually became line brothers, forging an unbreakable bond by pledging Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated in the Spring of 2004. To this day, we talk or text daily and I consider him a Brother for life.👌🏽

I met Scotty in the second grade at Kirby Elementary in Silsbee, Texas. I can’t remember what class it was, but I came in class singing. I guess he liked my singing and we became friends. Over the years we developed a life-long bond. We have been rocking and standing up for each other since we were kids. I appreciate you as a friend and a brother!
Groomsman
We have been friends more like brothers from elementary school and beyond. We have shared it all from Barlow Champions Boys Club to teammates at Silsbee High School. You have been there for every part of my life. When I was up you celebrated with me. When I was down you were the brother I could always count on to be there for me.

As I sit here and reflect on how we met, I can’t help but smile thinking about all the great times we’ve had. I can’t quite remember how we met, but we became friends in Junior High and grew into brothers in High School! We’ve had many laughs, cried together, worshipped together, and definitely gotten into our fair share of trouble. I can't count how many memories we've made—some I’ll cherish forever, and others I’m pretty sure we’ll just laugh about later! You are truly a friend and brother to me, and I will always cherish our bond. Much Love Brother!
Groomsman
It all started on First Street in Silsbee, Texas. The year was 1985, I decided to take some water balloons from Scotty and his cousin Kerry. Little did I know that Miss Paula and Mrs. Leola Riggans called my momma and told her what I did. After a belt whipping from my momma, I had to go over and apologize to the entire family. I learned a valuable lesson that day and gained a lifetime friend and brother. We shared peanut butter crackers together, played on the railroad tracks, and even caught crawfish with salt bacon in ditches. As year’s passed and we got older, we became closer. In high school, we formed a crew with groomsmen Banks, Jackson, and Matthews. We have grown an unmatched friendship from boys to men and if I could do it over again, I would and not change a thing. I love you bro and I thank you for being you!
Groomsman
If I remember correctly, I first met Scotty Riggans at the McKind Family Reunion. I was introduced to Brother Riggans by fellow groomsman DD Taylor. Senwayne, Chad, and Scotty came to the event to visit with members of the McKind Family. As we were introduced to each other, I properly found out that he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi just as I. I knew at that point that Scotty Riggans was a great man. Moving forward, Scotty has become like a Brother, and Uncle to my kids. He is always quick to lend a hand, and he is the most loyal man that I know. As the saying goes in Kappaland, he has always been a Brother.👌🏽

Scotty and I met at SFA during his first year here through mutual friends. At that time, most of the people here were from Dallas or Houston. So when I found out he was from a small town like me, and grew up in the church like me; I knew we were gonna be going to be friends. Fast forward a few years later, that friend became a brother when he joined Kappa Alpha Psi: the same Fraternity I had joined a little bit earlier. Over 20 years, several fishing trips, church services, cookouts, life moments, and road trips later; we are still down like 4 flat tires. I am beyond honored to be a part of your wedding day, Scotty and Evelin; and wish you both nothing but the best in your life together. 👌🏽

I met Scotty back in the Spring of 2007 after joining Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He instantly welcomed me into the Bond and treated me like his brother. We have been connected ever since. Thanks for being a Brother and Friend.👌🏽

I can’t remember how we met but I do know we came to know each other by way of 1st street in Silsbee, Texas around 4-5 years old. At my grandparent's house would be where we met up to run and play all day out in that sun we can’t hardly bear now. We would be back and forth across that highway going over to Waldo Park. But one story that I will never forget which was when we got caught with those “books” at a young age. The truth has still yet to be told. Love ya man.

When I first met Riggans 3 years ago at work, I thought he was just trying to show me the ropes at Sterling High—and man, he had a lot to say. But as we kept talking, I realized it wasn’t just about work; it was the start of a great friendship. And I’m grateful for that. Even more so, I’m glad that Evelin said yes, because together, they’re an incredible pair who bring out the best in each other. Riggans, you’ve been more than just a colleague—you’ve been a true friend. Thanks for all the guidance at work, but more than that, thanks for the laughs, the support, and the friendship. Congrats Brotha!
