We met one night when the stars aligned in 2016. Both recently feeling jaded by past relationships, they set out on a night to celebrate, have fun with friends, and maybe get a little tipsy. Little did they know, they'd meet the person to spend the rest of their lives with that night at West Coast Tavern in North Park.  Kara distinctly remembers the moment she saw Tyler from across the bar. She looked to her friend and pointed right at him and said, "HIM. I WANT HIM." But then when push came to shove (pun intended) and Tyler walked right past her, her friend had to physically push Kara into him so that she would get the nerves to dance with him. The moment they locked eyes she had butterflies in her stomach and knew he was different.  Against her better judgement Kara was ushered home with her friends in an Uber that night but not before exchanging numbers with Tyler. After a few scheduling struggles they shared their first date at Polite Provisions (also a bar) but instead of loud music and drinks they enjoyed craft beer and dog memes. They stayed in touch via text when Tyler left for vacation that next week and have done their best to avoid time apart ever since. The last six years have been a blur of life building events; from birthdays in Catalina, anniversaries celebrated in Hawaii, home buying in the height of the pandemic, to raising their first fur-child together, they've shared so many special moments and memories. They've found a comfort in each other and a sense of 'home' they had previously not known.
