Melissa's Older Sister
Kristel has the privilege of knowing Melissa the longest - - before she was able to control her energy or her bowel movements. They've been mistaken for twins numerous times but it should be known that Kristel is 1 and 1/4 inch shorter than Melissa, so really they're nothing alike 😉 She lives in White Oak, TX.
Drew
Ray's Friend Since Jr. High
Ray met Drew when he moved back to California at age 12. Ray's family moved in next door, and Ray immediately realized Drew's breakdancing skills and his IDGAF attitude made him a popular kid in Jr. High. Despite making fun of Ray's uncool Texas ways and trying to poke his dog in the eye, they became fast friends and were pretty much inseparable until college. They've stayed in touch over the years, and as of recent, they now work together!
Jordan
Melissa's Friend From Elementary School
Jordan knows Melissa from waaaaaaaay back - - since she was obsessed with aliens and tye-dyed tees. Jordan stuck with Melissa through her weird, puberty, teen, and college years so she's seen a lot. How Melissa managed to keep her as such a great friend is baffling! She lives in Tampa Bay, FL.
Mike
Ray's First College Friend
Mike and Ray met during the first week of college because Mike posted something about playing poker on his dorm room door. They never played poker together early on in their friendship, but they quickly became friends through their mutual zest for living life to the fullest. From telling people they were on a full-ride Dance Dance Revolution scholarship to backpacking around Costa Rica to crazy Coachella weekends they had a lot of fun together in college. They reconnected after college and lived in Chile and Denver together while working on Wolo. Despite shutting down Wolo, Ray and Mike learned a shit ton about being entrepreneurs and had some fun along the way.
Amy
Melissa's Friend From High School
Amy and Melissa have always made a great pair and routinely turned heads when they go out - - because of their full 13 inches of height difference. They once made a pact that they would marry each other if they were still alone by 40 (if Texas allowed same-sex marriage by then). That clearly didn't work out, though. Amy lives outside of Dallas with her husband Brendon and their adorable wiener dog Boomer.
Elliot
Ray's Festival Friend
Ray and Elliot were in the same fraternity together -- Phi Sig. In fact, the main reason Ray joined was because of the core group of guys that started it, like Elliot. Elliot and Ray partied a lot together in college and bonded over their love of electronic music (back before everyone knew who Deadmau5 was). They've been to Coachella numerous times together, and have met up for shows and festivals in LA, SF, and Denver. They also share a love for travel and have had some really fun times together in Colombia, Mexico, New York, Chile, SF, and Portland to name a few.
Ricky
Melissa's Friend From College
Ricky and Melissa were in the same dorm, majored in the same subject, and worked at the same place in college! They once had plans to start a food blog in Houston but they ate and drank too much when they went out together to be distracted by productivity. He's also visited Melissa in every state she's ever lived in -- whisch is a lot! Ricky lives in Houston, TX.
Trevor
Ray's South Park Friend
Trevor and Ray met in the same dorm building during their first year at UCSB. They had a lot of ridiculous themed parties. Trevor and Ray have also been able to travel to some really fun places around the world! In addition to their love for travel, partying, and gaming, they also love watching comedy TV when they get together. Don't be surprised if you hear them quoting South Park, Arrested Development, Rick and Morty, or It's Always Sunny.
Cinder
Melissa's Friend That Was Almost a Roommate
Cinder and Melissa first met at "that which shall not be named" university. It was dark times, but their horrible jobs solidified their friendship with each other -- they went through some shit, y'all. Cinder is one of the best friends to go to during a hard time. She will fill up any emotional void you have with amazing ceviche and micheladas. She lives in New York, NY (without Melissa -- they were supposed to be roommates until Denver happened).
Fred
Ray's Groomsman Who's Also the Officiant
Fred and Ray met during Spring Break '06 in Mexico. They became friends after Fred used his fluent Spanish to save Ray from going to Mexican jail after they were caught drinking tequila while driving ATVs around the streets of San Felipe. They hung out almost every day Spring Quarter that year before Fred returned to Sweden. Since then they've made it a point to see each other at least once per year, usually in a new location. They have a collection of countries they've skinny dipped in which will soon be in the double digits. Fred will not only be a groomsman but the officiant as well!
Molly
Melissa's Santa Barbara Friend
Molly and Melissa actually met at work but they didn't really become close friends until after she left UCSB. She's credited for Melissa's "Anthropologie binge of 2015" and when you look back on all of their fun times together they were probably shopping, brunching, beaching, eating delicious foods, drinking great drinks or falling asleep to some Netflix show on Molly's couch. Molly lives in Santa Barbara, CA (obvi).
Eric
Ray's NorCal Friend
When Ray first met Eric (Stahl), he thought he was from another planet. Eventually, Ray just realized he was from NorCal. Stahl taught Ray everything about the silly slang and fun rap music coming from the bay area and introduced Ray to a lot of his friends from Modesto. Over time, his love for bay area style and frattyness rubbed off on Ray, and their friend groups merged as they went on more fun adventures together.
DeeJay
Melissa's Famous Friend
DeeJay and Melissa had a whirlwind friendship romance at the same time Ray and Melissa met! They were roommates and workmates and SATC bingemates. After a long day at work, they would come home, order Chinese, pop open some rose (before it was a thing), and sing ballads from the greats. Not only is DeeJay an amazing drag performer (Vivian Storm) but they also served as Santa Barbara's Queen of Pride - - so, yea, royalty. DeeJay lives in Santa Barbara, CA.
Kyle
Ray's Craigslist Friend
Kyle and Ray met like many friends do, through Craigslist. Not in the "Man Seeking Man" section as you might expect, but in the rooms for rent section. Since then they've had some awesome times together playing volleyball, cooking, partying, scootering, rock climbing, and of course dancing! Kyle is one of the hardest working people Ray knows and one of the most talented chefs in the world.
Laura
Melissa's Long Distance Friend
Of course, Melissa is long distance to everyone now, but Laura and Melissa started off as long-distance friends and have remained close long distance friends. Laura actually knew Ray back in his college days during a time we refer to as "BM (before Melissa)." Laura's a great friend to go out hard with but also stay in and binge watch tv, eat pizza, and call in sick and not feel guilty. Laura lives in San Lorenzo, CA
Gil
Ray's Work Hard, Play Hard Friend
Ray met Gil while visiting Trevor and Mike in Thailand. It was such an awesome coincidence that he had started a data integration company and was looking to expand his team, and Ray just so happened to work in that field. Ray owes moving to NYC and a lot of his career success to Gil for showing him the possibilities in data consulting and demonstrating how to be an extremely hard worker. Although he was technically Ray's boss for a few years, he’s also been an amazing friend and mentor.
Leanne
Melissa's Friend That's Also the Future Sister-in-Law
Leanne had the fortunate job of putting up with Ray's antics as a child and also had a hand in shaping him into the empathetic, kind person he is today. She's not just going to be Melissa's future sister-in-law but she's also a great friend -- she and Melissa even held hands while they peed once! Leanne lives in Aliso Viejo, CA.
Justin
Ray's Brother-in-Law and Friend
The first time Ray met Justin he was thrown into a reunion with a few friends on a yacht in Santa Barbara. Surprisingly, Justin managed to keep up with everyone as they aggressively partied all over State Street and wound up in ridiculous situations. Ray knew Justin was going to be a great guy and a lot of fun since his sister was so in love with him, and he certainly is. Justin has been an awesome addition to Ray's family and always lightens any tense or awkward family situation with his witty sense of humor.
Zekee
Melissa's NYC Friend
Zekee has actually known Ray since their second year in college. Melissa and Zekee were officially introduced when she moved to New York and Ray conveniently moved to Chile. He was Melissa's guide, friend, and at one point was on health watch when she got a concussion and was confined to her apartment for a week. He showed Melissa the true New York -- happy hours at mattress stores, hip-hop improv comedy, and all of the free events to drink and/or eat at. Zekee now lives in Santa Barbara, CA.
Nick
Ray's NYC Friend
Ray was certain he was going to be friends with Nick before they even met. Ray had heard stories about this crazy Australian guy that sabers giant bottles of champagne and does other crazy fun things. Sure enough, they hit it off after some crazy weekends in the Hamptons. They really got to know each other on their third Hamptons trip together when the organizer rented a mansion for the 1-week minimum, but only Nick and Ray were able to stay during the week. They galavanted around for a few days listening to The Lonely Island and went out each night to beach bars and clubs. Since the Hamptons days, they’ve continued to have a lot of great adventures together around the globe, and look forward to many more! Spring Break!
