This is one of Brooke and Brandon's favorite places in San Diego. World renown for its plants and animals, you can easily spend a day here escaping the city. Brooke and Brandon love spending a day here, then getting a late lunch at Tasty Noodle House, with a stop at Somi Somi for ice cream before they go home!
A beautiful park that showcases the history and beauty of San Diego. Take a walk through the newly remodeled Botanical Building, ride the Carousel, or visit one of the many museums and gardens. This is a great spot to have a picnic lunch or grab a sandwich at their outdoor cafe.
Check out the historic heart of San Diego for lots of fun drinks and food. Just a short walk from the marina and beautiful nighttime views of the ocean and the city.
Enjoy a day at the beach on gorgeous Coronado Island. The bridge to get there showcases one of San Diego's best views, and the island itself is home to many historic businesses. Try Clayton's Coffee Shop for a classic diner breakfast (This was one of the first places Karen took Brooke when she was trying to convince her to move to San Diego... it clearly worked).
Want to check out an aquarium that isn't SeaWorld? Birch Aquarium is small, but mighty, just like their blue penguins. Located North of San Diego in La Jolla, this seaside town is worth the drive. Activities that could be paired with the Birch are a trip to Warwick's bookstore, Sunny Jim's Sea Cave, and a hike in Torrey Pines. Wanna go shred the gnar? Scripps pier offers waves for beginners and advanced surfers alike. Surfboard and body board rentals are available all along the coast.
Big history or naval buff? Ever wanted to go on a really, really big boat? Then the Maritime Museum and USS Midway are for you. Located in downtown San Diego, tours are hosted daily and provide a unique view into the history of San Diego.
Petco Park is one of the world's most beautiful and fun baseball stadiums. The Padres are at home this weekend playing the St. Louis Cardinals if you want to catch a game. Tickets start around $40.
