Travel Note
Your journey starts in Anacortes, where you’ll catch the ferry to Friday Harbor—the only terminal on San Juan Island. From there, Roche Harbor is just a 20-minute drive. Ferry Tips: All tickets to San Juan Island are round trip—no need to buy a return ticket. Vehicle fares range from $56–$80, depending on size. Passenger fares are $8–$16.50 (free for ages 18 and under). Reserve your ferry spot and buy tickets online in advance. Check the ferry schedule and arrive at least 60 minutes before departure—you don’t want to miss the boat! If you don't want to bring a vehicle: Many people decide to drive to the Anacortes ferry terminal, park at the terminal, and then walk on to the ferry. Shuttles and taxis run throughout the day from Friday Harbor (disembarkation) to Roche Harbor.
