Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Warm to hot & humid. It will be the dry season, but there is still lots of moisture in the air. The mornings will be cool to warm (high 60's to low 70s) & the highs can be in the 80s-90s. It will be humid.

Question

Is the tap water safe to drink?

Answer

Yes. You don’t need to buy bottles of water. You can drink the tap water and refill your reusable container (if you have one).

Question

Are there stores nearby?

Answer

Not really. We will be up in the rainforest, a 1.5-hr drive to Liberia, the nearest city. The small towns nearby may have small convenient type stores. Make sure you have what you need.

Question

What currency is accepted?

Answer

The resort will take American currency & credit cards. If you pay in American dollars your change will be in Costa Rican Colones, so bring some small denominations. If you are venturing out, smaller towns may prefer Colones. We had both American dollars & some Colones.

Question

Internet Service?

Answer

Internet is very spotty. The resort will have internet, but it’s not fast & the signal can be weak. Streaming video can be difficult, download any movies before you leave the states. We also recommend downloading Costa Rica from google maps. You will have access to the maps when you’re in areas without service.
