Barton Springs
Austin's most well known watering hole, close to the city. Filled entirely by natural springs, this spot was part of our first date.
Ramen Tatsu-Ya
Texas style ramen is a thing if you weren't aware. There's a few locations across town and it's considered one of the best ramen shops in the country. This particular location was a part of our first date.
End of An Ear
From used Criterion discs to brand new, unqiue records: our favorite record shop in Austin by far is End of an Ear.
Merit Coffee & Lady Bird Lake Trail
Start your morning at Merit coffee and get a little beverage for your walk around Lake Austin!
Desnudo Coffee: Downtown
You can also opt for a Desnudo breakfast sandwhich & coffee instead of Merit! The downtown location is the only one that offers the breakfast sandwhich, but there are multiple locations throughout town if you want a unique espresso beverage or a hojicha latte.
Veracruz All Natural
If breakfast sandies are not your thing, you can opt for some breakfast tacos from Veracruz!
Deep Eddy Municipal Pool & Pool Burger
While Barton Springs is a gorgeous springfed pool, we have a soft spot for its cousin: Deep Eddy Pool. Our ideal adventure is going to Deep Eddy and then heading over to Pool Burger after for a snack and tiki beverage.
First Light Book Shop
Take a trip to the bookstore Jenny drags Ray to every weekend~
Flo's Wine Bar & All Day Pizza
Then skip the line at All Day's brick & mortar nextdoor to First Light, and drive 8 minutes to Flo's Wine Shop and get a slice of our favorite pizza in Austin accompanied by a delicious glass of wine. Street parking only!
Zeds Real Fruit Ice Cream
After wining and dining at Flo's, head over to Zeds and build your own ice cream – it's sooo good.
Komé: Sushi Kitchen
Komé is one of our favorite spots for lunch or dinner. One of the best authentic Japanese restaurants in Austin!
AFS Cinema
After you are filled up with sushi, we recommend going to see a movie at Richard Linklater's theater Austin Film Society. They show both old and new films.
Nickel City
We love a tiki bar, and Nickel City is one of the best in Austin. They also have a really affordable food truck based on Detroit style snackies like chili dogs.
Mount Bonnell
A great little viewpoint that overlooks Lake Austin/part of the Colorado River. It's a short, easy hike up to the top with steps.
Jester King Brewery and Pieous
This is on the outskirts of the city, but Jester King is one of our favorite local beer breweries and is on a beautiful piece of land with amenities for families. They also have goats! You can pet and hang out with baby goats in their goat pen - just ask staff to buy a ticket on-site. When we do make it out here, we love pairing it with a visit to Pieous, a really great pizza and pastrami and pastry spot nearby. But Jester also has its own food as well.
