First Fridays of Downtown Bloomington

Top among DBA’s events is First Friday, obviously held on the first Friday of each month. The event showcases the numerous galleries, studios and artists downtown. A walking tour is augmented by promotions at individual businesses and, during the warmer months, DBA hires outside entertainers, from musicians to jugglers and even fire blowers.

DESTIHL BREWERY

Visit Desthil Brewery or The Desthil Brewhall in Bloomington to enjoy local craft beers, great food, and an amazing brunch on weekends from 9-2pm! They also happen to serve our favorite coffee in town. You can also visit the new Desthil Brew Hall destination for beer tours, amazing dinner, and great drinks as well with a really modern, laid-back atmosphere. Fort Jesse Cafe

Fort Jesse is a local restaurant that serves an INCREDIBLE southern style brunch. We often go here when we are patient enough to wait. It usually takes 30-45 minutes to get seated but the food makes it worth it!

Uptown Normal

This is a great downtown location for shopping, walking and eating. Check out Coffeehound for great coffee, The Garlic Press for eclectic shopping, Medici for great cocktails and the best gnocci in town, the university galleries for amazing art, and the Children's Discovery Museum for kid-friendly fun!

For great deep dish pizza, visit Giordano's! Their deep dish pizza takes about 45 minutes to an hour to prepare but they are worth the wait-especially if you call ahead.
