How do I get from the airport to Isla Mujeres?

If your flight arrives on 11/11/2021, please provide Renee your flight information, to ensure that private van transportation can be arranged for you. If you are planning to arrive on an alternate date, airport shuttles are available to take you to Puerto Juarez Ferry Terminal. Do I need to bring Mexican currency?

Answer

Almost all vendors and restaurants accept USD. However the current exchange rate is roughly 20 pesos to 1 USD. Local banks on the island are able to exchange USD to Pesos. Also, there are safe ATM's available downtown. Citibanamex, CIBanco, and HSBC, are all secure options.

How do I get around the Island?

Answer

The island itself is rather small, about 1 mile wide and 5 miles long. Taxis are available on the island. If you prefer to drive yourself, golf carts are available to rent by the hour, daily, or weekly. If your hotel is located on the North end of the island, downtown is within walking distance.
