Santa Barbara has its own municipal airport, conveniently located less than 10 miles from downtown. Uber, Lyft, and Waymo are readily available for transportation to and from the airport. We would recommend this option for convenience.

If you’re planning to extend your stay in California, we recommend considering a flight into LAX. Located about 100 miles south of Santa Barbara, the drive typically takes around two hours, although timing can vary depending on traffic, of course!

Travel Note

Do we need a rental car?

Generally, no! Santa Barbara is a picturesque, walkable city where you can easily enjoy local restaurants, wineries, the beach, and more on foot. However, if you’re planning to explore more of the California coast or extend your travels, renting a car will make getting around much easier. There is free parking at the church and free overnight parking at our reception venue if you decide to drive.
