What should I pack?

Answer

A word to the wise re luggage: pack light. Alaska Airlines charges extra for bags over 50 lbs. Be prepared for sunny days with shorts and t-shirts and also for light rain (Haines is so beautiful because it is a Rainforest). Having layers with you at all times is a good idea. Here are some suggestions: One pair shorts T-shirt and long sleeve shirts Long pants Raincoat Vest Lightweight down coat or something for nighttime Backpack for day hikes Light hiking shoes Warm hat and scarf; it can get windy Sun hat for hikes Plenty of warm socks Sunglasses and sunscreen Bug repellent Book for reading during breaks and travel Wedding day outfit

What do I wear to an Alaskan wedding?

Answer

Semiformal or "Alaskan formal." We're getting a little dressy (it's a wedding after all!) but remember that our venue includes uneven terrain, a grassy lawn, rocky beach and forest areas. Additionally, plan for all types of weather. A light jacket or shawl would be a good idea. We will be outside! (Pray for sun!)

What about transportation?

Answer

We will provide transportation to and from the wedding reception. If you would like to utilize this service, a bus will pick you up from the Haines Brewery at 5:20 and bring you out to the venue. After the reception, the bus will return you to your vehicle, or to your home.
