Getting Around: Vancouver has an excellent transit system (TransLink). The SkyTrain, buses, and SeaBus are easy to use. Grab a Compass Card at any SkyTrain station. Rideshares (Uber, Lyft) are also widely available.
Weather: August in Vancouver is warm and dry — expect temperatures around 22–25°C (72–77°F). A light layer for evenings is recommended.
Currency: Canadian Dollars (CAD). Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. ATMs are widely available downtown.
Tipping: 15–20% is customary at restaurants, cafes, and for taxi/rideshare drivers.
Emergency: Call 911 for police, fire, or medical emergencies.
