Anand Karaj (Sikh Wedding Ceremony) Anand Karaj is the traditional Sikh wedding ceremony, held at a Gurdwara (Sikh place of worship). The ceremony is spiritual and peaceful, centered around prayers and hymns from the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy scripture. The couple sits together and circles the scripture four times, representing commitment, equality, and a shared spiritual journey. Guests are asked to dress modestly, cover their heads, and remove shoes as a sign of respect. After the ceremony, everyone is welcome to stay for langar, a communal vegetarian meal shared together as equals.
