We actually met the modern way, through THE INTERNET! A dating site that has since retired : How About We.com Jeannette posted a date suggestion : How about we... go to a local show? Derek responded : What show? Jeannette : Mucca Pazza! A 17 piece punk marching band is playing a halloween show at Chicago's Double Door venue and it's going to rad! We both attended the event, but we actually didn't meet that night. But not to worry, Derek was so impressed by performance, he reached out to her about a week later and asked to grab a drink at Revolution Brewery in Logan Square. Then, 5 years later, he proposed!

A beautiful Sunday morning, Derek, Jeannette, friends, and family drove out to go peach and cherry picking near St. Joseph, Michigan. The day was full of joy and laughter, taking rides on a tractor trailer, and picking through the peach groves. As we were scoping the best trees to pick from, Derek handed Jeannette a peach and lead her to the next row of trees away from everyone. Alone, Derek pulls out a ring and pops the question!
