We met on a snowy Super Bowl Sunday at Donner Lake in Truckee, CA. Rakelle was living in town, and James was up for a weekend trip with mutual friends. We hit it off right away, bonding over shared laughs, some questionable jokes, and a fun day of skiing that neither of us will forget. From there, things just clicked. Over the next few years, we built a life filled with adventure, cozy weekends, ski days, inside jokes, and more laughter than we can count. We’re a little goofy, a lot loving, and always rooting for each other. Four years later, James brought everything full circle and proposed at the very same lake, on Super Bowl weekend, of course. Now we’re so excited to return to the place it all began and celebrate with the people we love most.
