Travel Note

Getting to Manuel Antonio

There are 3 main options to get from SJO to Manuel Antonio: shuttle service, domestic flight, or rental car. Transportation by shuttle service or domestic flight will be coordinated by the villa's concierge. The villa will contact you for your travel itinerary and to assist in transportation coordination. We recommend shuttle service transportation. The villa will provide a driver to take your group to Manuel Antonio and return you to the airport at the end of the trip. If you wish to choose your own adventure, rental cars are available at the airport. Contact concierge listed below for parking availability at Villa Punto de Vista. Contact concierge for shuttle service questions: Gloriela Saborio | (310) 861-6724 | gloriela@villapuntodevista.com Karla Najera | (506) 6018-2390 | karla@villapuntodevista.com

Flight

San Jose International Airport (SJO)

SJO is the main international airport located in San Jose, CR. You can fly into SJO, then fly, drive, or take a shuttle to Manuel Antonio. The most direct route is to fly into SJO and then take a short (25 min) domestic flight to Quepos. From Quepos, take a short (15-20 min) taxi/uber ride to Manuel Antonio. Otherwise, it is a 3 hour drive from SJO to Manuel Antonio. Helpful tip: Dining options inside SJO airport are limited. We recommend planning meals or snacks accordingly, especially if you have onward travel after landing.

Flight

AEROPUERTO INTERNACIONAL DANIEL ODUBER QUIRÓS (LIR)

LIR is the second major international airport in Costa Rica. There are no domestic flights from LIR to Quepos; therefore if you fly into this airport, you will need to rent a car and drive to Manuel Antonio. It’s a beautiful route, albeit a longer one

Flight

Domestic Flights to Quepos Airport

Instead of a 3 hour drive, if you prefer a quicker and more scenic option to reach Manuel Antonio, you can book a domestic flight from San José International Airport (SJO) to Quepos Airport (XQP). The flight takes approximately 25 minutes and offers stunning aerial views of Costa Rica’s coastline and mountains. Price: $100 approx. (one way) Domestic flights are operated by airlines such as Sansa Airlines, which departs directly from the domestic terminal (Terminal Doméstica) located just a short walk from the main international terminal at SJO. We recommend booking your flight in advance, as seats can fill up quickly, especially during high season. Once you arrive at Quepos Airport, Manuel Antonio is just a 15–20 minute drive away, and we can help coordinate ground transportation from the airport to your destination. Note: This option is for small domestic flights on a light aircraft, and checked bags are limited to 30 pounds. Please be aware that due to weight restrictions, your bag may be placed on a subsequent flight.

Shuttle

SHUTTLE SERVICES

January 4, 2027 12:00 am - 11:45 pm

Shuttle service is the recommended method of transportation. Ahead of your arrival, the villa team will reach out to attending guests to collect travel details and thoughtfully coordinate shared shuttle service for those who prefer to hire a driver for transportation to Manuel Antonio. The shared shuttles will consist of wedding guests only. Guests may also arrange private shuttle transportation, offering flexible departure times and an effortless travel experience. After RSVP date, a link will be sent out to all attending guests to request flight information. Once flight information is collected, pricing and shuttle times will be communicated for the shared shuttle service. Pick up/drop off dates are flexible. Private shuttle: $200 for up to 4 guests, plus tax (one way) $15 per additional guest Shared shuttle: After flight details are collected, shared shuttles may be arranged for guests arriving at similar times. Shared transportation will include only wedding guests. Final pricing will be provided once arrival/departure times are confirmed. The drive from San José International Airport to Villa Punto de Vista is approximately 3 hours, traveling through Costa Rica’s scenic central valleys and coastal routes, with optional stops along the way, including the iconic crocodile bridge, before arriving in Manuel Antonio. All shuttle options include a bi-lingual driver, fully insured service, and a flexible schedule with bathroom break and lunch stop at your own expense. Contact concierge for shuttle service questions: Gloriela Saborio | (310) 861-6724 | gloriela@villapuntodevista.com Karla Najera | (506) 6018-2390 | karla@villapuntodevista.com

Rental Car

VARIOUS RENTAL CAR COMPANIES

If you do not fly into Quepos, then you can rent a car and drive to Manuel Antonio. The drive from SJO is approximately 3 hours. The drive from LIR is approximately 4.5 hours. A car with four wheel drive is typically recommended for Costa Rica, however the main routes from both airports are paved and should not require four wheel drive. If you plan to explore other areas of Costa Rica or avoid the main roads, then rent a vehicle with four wheel drive to be safe. TIP: If you are planning to rent a car, we recommend researching rental car insurance, possibly through your credit card company (the rental car prices you will see online will appear very low, but there are expensive hidden fees for car insurance). Please review your travel credit card agreement to confirm if this can be waived.
