The Portland Headlight
The Portland Headlight is a must-see for anyone coming to Maine. Touted as the most photographed lighthouse in the world, the Headlight is situated in a beautiful public park where there are food trucks offering lobster rolls and gelato.
Portland Observatory
The Observatory is a rare surviving maritime signal tower and one of Anna's favorite places in the area, offering unparalleled 360 views of Portland and the Casco Bay. It’s a short but memorable stop that blends local history with one of the best vantage points in Portland. We highly recommend you take one of the guided tours!
Pine Point Beach
Scarborough and the surrounding area have numerous beaches from sandy to rocky, quiet to busy. We are partial to Pine Point Beach which has ample parking, but we encourage you to check out any of these local beaches: East End, Willard, Higgins, Ferry, Sandy Point, Crescent, or Old Orchard!
The Lobster Shack at Two Lights
Two Lights is our favorite spot in the area for casual seafood right on the ocean if you want that true Maine lobster experience.
Casco Bay Lines Ferry Specialty Tours
Casco Bay Lines’ specialty cruises offer an easy and unique way to experience Portland, Maine from the water. We highly recommend the sunset mailboat tour where you can pack your own picnic onto the ferry and ride along as mail is delivered to the surrounding inhabited islands in the bay.
Scratch Baking Co
Scratch is a local institution famous for their bagels, breads, and various other baked goods. Get there early before they sell out, and bring your treats with you over to scenic Willard Beach for a walk along the water.
Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse
The Headlight might be the most famous lighthouse, but Spring Point is unique for the rock getty you can walk out on to get to it.
Old Orchard Pier
Old Orchard Beach is the Coney Island of Maine. There's a sprawling beach, souvenir shops, bars, street food, and even an amusement park / arcade.
Deering Oaks Park Farmers Market
The farmers market is located in one of the largest and oldest parks in Portland and takes place every Wednesday and Saturday 7am-1pm.

This is a classic no-frills diner right on the waterfront in downtown Portland.
