Utah has warm summers with very little to no humidity. The high is typically between 75 and 85 degrees with the low between 50 and 59 degrees in the evenings. It is best to bring layers of clothing so you can dress as needed throughout the day and evening.
Where you will be staying at Sundance Mountain Resort, the altitude is 6,100 feet. To help adjust to the higher altitude, drink plenty of water the day of arriving at Sundance.
Welcome Reception Casual with a Western Flair Think jeans, sundresses, cowboy boots, and a little country charm! Whether it’s a denim jacket, fringe, flannel, or your favorite boots, feel free to get into the Western spirit—comfort is key, but a touch of cowboy is welcome! Wedding Day Semi-Formal Western Chic Dress to impress in semi-formal attire, but don’t be afraid to add a little Western charm! Cowboy boots, bolo ties, Western hats, and denim accents are welcome. Think classy meets country—polished looks with a bit of rustic flair. The ceremony will take place on gravel. We recommend wearing sturdy or comfortable shoes (boots, wedges, or flats are great options)—thin heels might be tricky. Some ladies may want to change shoes from sneakers to heels for the reception.
The wedding will be both indoors and outdoors, with the ceremony being at the summit. You will take a chairlift halfway up the mountain (10-15 minute ride) to a flat area for the ceremony, where there is gravel to walk on. Please wear shoes that you can walk on gravel comfortably. Don't worry if you haven't been on a chairlift before. It's a wonderful, safe experience and the views are beautiful! The chairlift ride, leading to a wedding ceremony, is very common at Sundance. We are confident in The Resort's competence in handling all guests, regardless of their mobility.
A formal invitation will arrive with specific details pertaining to the wedding. We will keep the website updated should there be any changes.
We anticipate the ceremony taking place in the early evening. Following the wedding ceremony we will celebrate with a cocktail hour, dinner, dancing and reception. The reception will likely conclude by 10:30 PM.
