FAQs

Question

Do I need to book my own hotel or Airbnb?

Answer

No, you do not need to book your own accommodations. We invite you to stay with us at The Jarvis Homestead in Ellsworth, Maine.

Question

What's the best way to get to Ellsworth, ME?

Answer

You can get to Maine by car or by air. If you're traveling from Western New York by car, it is roughly a 10-hour and 30-minute drive to The Jarvis Homestead. If you're traveling by air, we recommend flying into the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (BHB), 7.4 miles from Ellsworth, or Bangor International Airport (BGR), located about 30 miles from Ellsworth. We recommend renting a car as we'll all need to carpool to and from the ceremony site in Acadia National Park.

Question

What is there to do in Maine and Acadia National Park?

Answer

There is so much to do in the area that we can't include it all on this page. Please reach out to Rachelle or Dakota to have them share with you the travel guide with everything you need to know about Maine and Acadia National Park. A printed copy will also be available in your room at The Jarvis Homestead.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 15, 2026.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Please refer to the Schedule tab above for more event details.

Question

Is there transportation to and from The Jarvis Homestead to the ceremony?

Answer

No, there is no scheduled transportation. Please plan to carpool as parking is limited in Acadia National Park.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 8 am. Please refer to the Schedule tab above for more information.

Question

Is there a dress code for the ceremony?

Answer

Our dress code is elevated casual—we’re getting married outdoors in one of the most beautiful places on earth, and we’d love for everyone to look nice for photos. Think: • Dresses (casual, midi, or maxi are all great) • Casual suits, blazers with slacks, or button-down shirts with dress pants • Jumpsuits, dressy tops with skirts, or sweater dresses • Please avoid jeans, shorts, sneakers, and athletic wear The ceremony spot is on a coastal trail, so comfortable, walkable shoes are a must; flats, boots, or block heels work well. We also recommend bringing a jacket or wrap, since early mornings in Acadia can be cool and breezy in the fall.

Question

What other clothing should I pack?

Answer

Please plan to dress for October in Maine. Expect cool mornings (40s–50s °F) and mild afternoons (50s–60s °F), with the chance of coastal breeze or light rain. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a jacket, as it can be chilly near the ocean, especially in the morning.
