Where should we stay?

Answer

All events & accommodations are at Basin Harbor. A room block is reserved for "Brett Shappy Wedding" that gives you a discounted rate. The discounted rates are only available via telephone so call 800-622-4000 to book. A few things to keep in mind: -Basin Harbor books up quickly & will sell out. They cannot guarantee a room for every wedding guest, so please book as soon as you can. If they are sold out now, it's possible that additional rooms will become available in mid-May, so please check in with them again then. -If Basin Harbor sells out, there are additional options nearby: Strong House Inn & Emerson House are bed & breakfasts that are 10 minutes away. River's Edge is 5 minutes away and has several cottages available for rent. There are also several Airbnb options. -A variety of rooms are available at Basin Harbor including more traditional hotel-style guest rooms and studio, 1, 2, & 3 bedroom cottages

When do I need to RSVP by?

We’d love to know if you can make it (we hope you can!). Please RSVP by May 8th using the RSVP card that came in the mail.

Everyone is welcome to join for ALL of the events we have listed on the "Schedule" page of this website: Welcome Gathering Friday Evening Ceremony, Cocktail Hour & Reception on Saturday After Party late-night on Saturday Farewell Brunch on Sunday

What should we wear?

Cocktail attire for the Ceremony & Reception Casual attire for the Welcome Party on Friday & Sunday Brunch June weather in Vermont can be tricky! We're hoping for 70 degree temps during the day & it will likely dip to the 50s at night. We will be both inside & outside and we will be walking be on grass & dirt/gravel roads, so please plan accordingly.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

You'll have the choice of steak, chicken or a vegetarian option for dinner at the reception (please select what you'd like on the RSVP card), but please email rachelkbrett@gmail.com if there is anything else we need to consider when planning your delicious meal.

Can I bring a date?

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you, but please reach out to us with any questions!

Are kids invited?

Answer

Due to space limitations at Basin Harbor, we're trying to keep it an adults-only affair, except for kids in our immediate family. If your invitation says "The ______ Family", then yes your kiddos are welcome! Otherwise, we ask that you leave the little ones at home and we'd be thrilled to host mom & dad's night out.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes - Basin Harbor is dog-friendly! R&V's pup Luna will happily be serving as the 4-legged welcoming committee. Please note that pets are only allowed in certain accommodations & areas of the resort. Details on Basin Harbor's pet policy can be found here: https://www.basinharbor.com/accommodations/pet-friendly/ We just ask that the pups stay in your room during the ceremony & reception.
