Remember we’ll be celebrating at elevation, so take it easy your first day. One drink can feel like two at elevation, and staying hydrated makes a big difference. Altitude sickness is common, and some people adjust easier than others — drinking water will help, and some find oxygen cans and/or Dramamine helpful as well.
The Eagle-Vail Airport (EGE) is about 30 minutes away from our venue and the easiest option. Denver International Airport (DEN) is about a 2-2.5 hour drive, depending on traffic. If you choose DEN, renting a car is probably the easiest option to get to/from Beaver Creek. Your other option is to organize shuttle transportation from DIA — common choices include Epic Mountain Express, Peak 1 Express, and Summit Express.
If you’re staying with us at the Westin, many restaurants and local spots are walkable. If you’d like to explore the Vail Valley beyond Avon, we recommend renting a car.
Layers are key. We recommend a light jacket or wrap, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and something warm for the evenings. You’ll also want to bring walking shoes in addition to whatever you’re wearing to the wedding.
We kindly ask that only those listed on your invitation attend. If you’re in a serious relationship, we’re happy to consider a plus one — just reach out to the bride ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
While we adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone the opportunity to relax and enjoy a fun weekend in the mountains with us!
Staying at the Westin makes this easy — the hotel provides complimentary on-demand shuttle service to and from Beaver Creek and Vail for hotel guests. The shuttle operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests can simply scan the shuttle QR code located throughout the property to request a ride. We recommend requesting your shuttle about 20 minutes before you'd like to depart. If you have a specific schedule to keep or need transportation beyond Beaver Creek or Vail (for example, EGE airport), the Westin also offers private transportation services for an additional fee. Please contact the Westin directly for pricing and availability.
Friday: The Welcome Party is on the Stoke & Rye Outdoor Terrace at the Westin hotel. If you’re not staying at the Westin, you’ll need to organize separate transportation for this event. Saturday: Transportation will be provided on the wedding day to/from the Westin hotel and between venues. If you’re staying elsewhere, you’ll need to coordinate transportation to Beaver Creek for the ceremony, and from the EagleVail Pavilion at the end of the night.
Attire is mountain casual — interpret that however you’d like. It’ll be very laid-back, with no strong preferences or requirements for guest attire. The wedding party will be a bit more dressed up since we’ll be coming from the rehearsal dinner, but please wear whatever you’re comfortable in.
Cocktail attire is suggested, but please feel free to wear whatever you feel good in. Dresses or multi-piece outfits are perfect. Jackets and ties are optional.
Heels can be tricky on the mountain and around the Wedding Deck. Block heels, wedges, or flats are great options — otherwise you may want to bring a second pair of shoes to change in and out of.
The ceremony is at the top of Beaver Creek Mountain and is typically 10-15° cooler than the valley. It can also be breezy, so we recommend bringing a shawl, jacket, or wrap, especially if you’re wearing something sleeveless.
Yes! The morning after, we’ll host a casual farewell brunch at the townhome we’re staying in at the Westin. We’ll be catering from one of our favorite local spots — Avon Bakery & Deli. Very casual, PJs encouraged, feel free to stop by as you’re able before heading home.
