Located 20 minutes north of Black Butte Ranch in Camp Sherman, Wizard Falls Fish Hatchery is found along the Metolius River. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., there is no bad time of year to visit this park-like setting. The purpose of the hatchery is the incubation and rearing of several types of fish for recreational fishing, like kokanee salmon and rainbow trout.

Located 30 minutes west of Black Butte Ranch is the Koosah and Sahalie Falls Trail. Famous for its two waterfalls, this 2.4 mile trail is perfect for all ages. Enjoy the stunning waterfalls, beautiful scenery, and mostly shaded trail. Perfect for a sunny fall morning. Dogs allowed on leash. The Sahalie Falls viewpoint is good for strollers and wheelchairs.
Enjoy a 4.1 mile hike up Black Butte. On a clear day, you get incredible views of Mount Jefferson, Hood, and St. Helens from the top. Dogs allowed on leash. 1,558 feet of elevation gain make for a great workout. 4 wheel drive recommended to get to the trailhead.
