What should I wear?

Answer

We ask that our guests dress in cocktail attire for our wedding day. Suits and dresses preferred. Please note, the ceremony will be outside on a grass field rain or shine so layers are recommended. The reception will be held indoors directly behind the ceremony.

When should I book lodging?

Answer

We recommend 6 months or more in advance. The earlier you book will provide you with the best selection of available properties and price points as BBR is a popular year round destination. Booking options are available through the Black Butte Ranch website (use discount code Schenck-Dodt for 10% off), VRBO, Airbnb, and Expedia.

Are kids allowed?

While we love your little ones, we kindly request an adult-only celebration on our wedding day. Kids are invited to the welcome party on Friday, but unfortunately are not allowed at the wedding due to venue capacity constraints.

How far out should I book a sitter?

We recommend booking a sitter 6 months in advance. Our coordinator recommends booking through Snappy Sitters: https://snappysitters.com/

What is the parking situation at the venue?

Answer

There is plenty of parking at the venue.

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

There will be a shuttle to get guests home after the wedding for those staying onsite at Black Butte Ranch. The venue allows overnight parking so you can grab your car in the morning. Most rental properties are less than 1.5 miles from the venue. Please note that Uber and Lyft are not available in this area of Central Oregon. Guests staying offsite will be responsible for getting themselves to and from the venue.
