Our Story

Just two enlistments, the perfect tropical assignment, an epidemic, and a roommate was all it took for this love story to happen. Quentin and Rachel met in 2020 while both in the Army during COVID-19 quarantine at the reception housing on Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Rachel had a permanent room in the same barracks, having arrived several weeks earlier. Quentin was still on the mandatory 2-week quarantine. However, he and some friends decided to sneak out to have a few drinks upstairs with their friend who had just moved into their permanent room. That friend was Rachel’s new roommate. Suddenly, in her pajamas with her hair looking crazy, her room was filled with 10 unfamiliar faces and some loud music. Quentin, Rachel, and part of those same 10 people, stayed close their entire time stationed in Hawaii. As a group they spent almost every day together. Two and a half years later after being best friends and gym partners, Rachel and Quentin finally started dating. Due to how the military operates, they eloped in 2023 to remain stationed together with plans to have a wedding soon after. Of course, life happens, and after welcoming their beautiful son, a deployment to the Middle East, buying a house and so much more, it’s finally happening! Please join them in celebrating their love story, however non-linear it may be.
