Unlike the busy tourist beaches, Edisto offers a slower pace perfect for relaxing, exploring local shops and seafood spots, riding bikes, or spending the day by the water. It's about an hour drive from Walterboro.
Downtown Charleston King Street
King Street is one of the most popular spots in downtown Charleston, known for its mix of historic charm, shopping, restaurants, rooftop bars, and nightlife. Whether you want to grab cocktails, explore local boutiques, enjoy incredible food, or just walk around and take in the city, King Street has a little bit of everything and is the perfect place to spend a day or night in Charleston. It's about an hour and fifteen minutes from Walterboro.
Sullivan's Island
Sullivan’s Island is one of our favorite beach towns near Charleston, known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and amazing local restaurants. It’s the perfect spot to spend the day relaxing by the water, grabbing drinks with friends, or exploring around town. And if you find yourself hungry while you’re there, stop by Poe’s Tavern—one of our favorite local spots and where I work!
