We're Getting Married!

We met how anyone meets these days, on a dating app. Our first date was at Esters, a pizza place in south Denver, CO. Nick got the worst pizza either of us has ever had, but we had the best time despite the food, spending hours after dinner walking around the neighborhood talking and getting to know each other. We both knew after just a few dates that we had found someone we wanted to spend a lot of time with.

From the beginning, we’ve been going on adventures together. Nick convinced me to get into camping, so we’ve been to several national parks together. We’ve been to Rocky Mountain in CO, Grand Teton and Yellowstone in WY, Arches and Canyonlands in Utah, not to mention numerous state parks around Colorado. One of our favorite adventures together was the trip we took to Puerto Vallarta Mexico in January 2024. We will never forget seeing so many majestic humpback whales and Nick swimming in the bioluminescence after our sunset kayaking tour. Absolutely magical!

It didn’t take long for either of us to realize we’d found our forever adventure buddy. We started talking about taking the next step in our relationship and started looking at rings. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to design my engagement ring together with the help of a friend of Nick’s, who is now a jeweler, during the fall of 2024. Nick proposed on January 26th, 2025, on his 30th birthday! We spent the weekend with Nick’s parents and brother, Dan, and planned to end the trip by train through the Royal Gorge. Little did I know, Nick had something planned for after the train! We drove to the top of the gorge so we could see the incredible view, then Nick got down on one knee and asked the easiest question I’ve ever been asked, and I said “Yes!”
