FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Final RSVPs are needed by Saturday, June 4.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

San Jose is closest to Santa Cruz and is about 45 minutes away. You could also fly into San Francisco if you're adding a visit to the city in your itinerary.

Question

Will I need a car?

Answer

If you're flying in you will likely want to rent a car. There are not public transit options from the airports to Santa Cruz. There are Lyfts and Ubers readily available at the airports and you could get a ride to Santa Cruz from San Jose airport for around $60 on average. Lyfts/Ubers should be accessible from Santa Cruz to the church and/or the reception venue.

Question

What should I expect at the Catholic Sacrament of Matrimony?

Answer

A sacrament is a visible sign of an invisible reality. The sacrament of matrimony is different from other sacraments in that the couple are the actual ministers of the sacrament to each other. With our wedding vows, we make a lifelong commitment to love and honor each other on our journey towards heaven. The sacrament will take place within the context of the Holy Mass. The Mass is our primary form of worship and culminates with the sacrament of the Eucharist, a memorial of the Last Supper and reception of the Body & Blood of Jesus Christ in Communion. If you are not a practicing Catholic or, for whatever reason, are not prepared to receive, we kindly ask that you refrain from Holy Communion and instead come forward for a blessing.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We have many nieces and nephews and their presence at our wedding will add to the fun! If you have children, they are welcome, but if you prefer at night out on your own, that's great too! Please let us know how many children will attend and if we should plan for an adult meal (teenagers, kids with sophisticated palates) or kids meal (chicken tenders, fries) or no meal (babies).

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking at the church and the reception. We have pre-paid parking at the reception, so tell the attendant you are a wedding guest.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your invitation includes the names of everyone invited. if yours does not, we, unfortunately, cannot accommodate another person.

Question

Are there any COVID restrictions?

Answer

The church and venue do not require vaccination or testing. We will inform you prior to the wedding if there are any requirements regarding mask wearing as guidelines are continually changing.
