FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

FORMAL ATTIRE As our ceremony will take place in church, we kindly ask guests to dress modestly for the ceremony. We recommend dresses of appropriate length, covered shoulders, and avoiding high slits during the church service. A light shawl or wrap is always a great option for the ceremony. The reception immediately following may be more relaxed.

Question

Are children allowed to attend the wedding reception?

Answer

While we love your little ones, due to limited space we are keeping the reception primarily adults-only. If you need to request an exception, please reach out to the bride and groom in advance.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for! For guests who wish to honor us with a gift, a card box will be available at the reception, and we truly appreciate any thoughtful gifts. We have also created a Newlywed Home Fund as we begin saving for a home together.

Question

What is the Orthodox Church?

Answer

The Orthodox Church is the original Christian Church founded by Jesus and continued by his Apostles. It is the same Church described in the Bible as the Body of Christ and the Bride of Christ (1 Corinthians 12 : 27; Ephesians 5 : 23–25). Throughout its 2000-year history Orthodox Christianity has remained faithful to the teachings and practices passed on from the Apostles and early Church Fathers (2 Thessalonians 2 : 15). The Orthodox Church began in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2), and from there spread throughout the world. Today some 200 million people identify themselves as Orthodox, most of whom live in Greece, Russia, Romania, Serbia and other eastern European countries, as well as throughout the Middle East. Approximately four million Orthodox live in the United States.
