We met on an 8 day backpacking trip for incoming CU Boulder students. We were given 1 tarp, 4 ski poles, and different 8 person teams. It rained a lot, dropped below freezing, and Max ate a lot of gluten free noodles that were barely cooked. We met while the teams got together for group kayaking and never looked back.

Our first kiss was in New York City's Times Square during New Year's Eve Ball Drop of 2015. Therefore, it was only fitting that Max proposed on the Royal Gorge bridge during New Year's Eve of 2020.
