The parking lot that guests will use can be found by following directions to the Gladie Visitor Center on HWY 715. Follow GPS to this address: 3451 Sky Bridge Rd. Stanton, KY 40380, to access the designated parking area for our ceremony. The ceremony is located in a secluded area in the Red River Gorge Geological Area that is within walking distance of approximately 100 yards from the Gladie Visitor Center parking lot. For typed directions to the ceremony site, please contact us! We will have specific directions to the ceremony site approximately 1 week prior to our wedding date!
YES! Both the ceremony and the reception venue offer free parking. With this being a public national park, after hours parking is limited, so guests should make carpooling arrangements in advance.
It’s best to plan on arriving about 15 minutes before our 6:00 P.M. start time. Eastern Kentucky is known to have curvy roads that may take a few extra minutes to navigate. However, please try not to arrive any earlier than 15 minutes, due to restrictions placed by the The Red River Gorge park services.
Dress code for the outdoor ceremony is "garden party attire". Men should wear collared shirts with an optional vest of a lighter hue, a suit or suit jacket of a lighter hue, khaki or light colored pants, dress shoes and a tie. The ladies may find wearing a knee length sundress or a long, flowing maxi dress most accomodating, paired with a pair of sandals or flats. But, a jumpsuit may be approrpiate as well.
If inclement weather is encroaching, our ceremony will be moved to Gallery 33. Follow GPS to this address: 12280 Campton Rd. Slade, KY 40376. For typed directions, please contact us!
Our reception dinner will be hosted at Gallery 33. Janet, our wedding coordinator will lead guests back to the reception; approximately a 20 minute car drive, immediately following the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the wedding party will stay back at the ceremony site for photographs while guests make their way to the Gallery 33 for cocktails and appetizers. Dinner to proceed.
The state of Kentucky's public health regulation on facemasks are in line with current CDC recommendations and apply to visitors to Kentucky State Parks, including the Red River Gorge. This means that face coverings are no longer needed by those that are 2 weeks out from receiving their second dose of the COVID vaccine when outdoors and indoors. Of course, if there are guests that have been vaccinated, but still choose to wear a face covering they may do so! Masks and other face coverings will not be provided by the couple or the venue. So, if you are planning to wear a mask, please B.Y.O.M. Stay safe!
