Being a new transfer student to West Virginia University looking for a fresh start, with the help of my roommate and best friend, I started an online dating profile. Justin and I both being new to online dating, we surprisingly quickly ran across one another's dating profiles and swiped right. After a number of late night texts and phone calls deep in conversation with each other, before we knew it we were going on our first date! We had dinner together and ventured around our local shopping mall in my new college town, Morgantown, West Virginia trying to make the night last as long as possible.

"Rustic Memories Cabin" in Terra Alta, West Virginia We had visited this cabin once before in February of 2017, for a quiet Valentine's Day weekend get-away together. We fell in love with the quaint and cozy cabin and the breathtaking scenery surrounding us, and ultimately decided we must go back again soon... In December of 2018, we found ourselves back again at one of our new favorite retreats. We arrived late afternoon and planned on exchanging gifts that evening, but I was too excited to wait. After Justin finished opening his gifts, he handed me mine, pointing to one of the boxes and said, "Open this last." I opened the box, and I pulled out a clear, glass coffee mug that read, "Does this ring make me look engaged?" My heart pounding, I looked up and saw Justin kneeling on one knee in front of me asking me to marry him!
