We're (finally) tying the knot!

It's hard to say when exactly our story began. As most of you know, we have been friends for many years, but when our friendship turned to love is hard to pinpoint...maybe the love was always there. He attended Austin High, and she went to Westlake. Anyone from Austin knows that these two schools had an intense rivalry at the time, especially when it came to football. (Although, the Westlake Chaparrals usually swept the floor with the Austin Maroons...what even IS a Maroon?) When two of their mutual friends started dating, they saw more of each other and a friendship began. They were both seeing other people at the time, so nothing romantic came about for years, but they had a mutual appreciation that continued to grow. They saw each other through the ups and downs of life over the next decade and kept up via social media when they weren't living in the same city. And they would often cross paths at social events with mutual friends. Irv was known for his over-the-top parties, often costume-themed! And Rachel attended as often as she could, even showing up 8-months pregnant to his Halloween party in 2008, in a Britney Spears schoolgirl outfit! Fast-forward to 2015, Irving moved back from the midwest, where he'd spent 4 years, honing his new skills in the security industry. The day after he got back to Austin, they made plans to go out. He said to her, "I could use some positive Rachel vibes in my life". It was meant to be a friendly get together, but it felt more like a date from the moment he showed up at her door with dinner reservations for a steakhouse, overlooking the hill country--sparks flew! Wine flowed! It was a fabulous night. They were hooked! A few months later, they went out on the first family-date with 6-year-old Amri. After dinner, she asked Irv if he would be her dad...! Since then, they've built a business, renovated a 120-year-old home, and can't wait to see what's next!
