About The Wedding

Start Here!

Welcome Folks! We are so excited to celebrate one of the most important days of our lives with you. The wedding will take place in Brooklin Maine, a small village nestled on the coast of Maine. The area is famous for its lobsters, boat building, and breathtaking natural beauty. (And of course, its biggest claim to fame is that it is where Henry was born and raised!) The wedding marks the start of one of the biggest adventures of our lives, but we will not be alone on this adventure. This July, you too will be setting out on an adventure of your own when you go to Maine to be a part of the wedding. We just want to give you a little heads-up about what to expect up there. Maine has A LOT to offer, but some of the common amenities (i.e. consistent cell phone service) are sometimes few and far between. Ubers, taxis and fast food restaurants are all either quite hard to find or just plain non-existent. Large hotel chains, public transportation, and some other services that you may expect just about anywhere else have seemingly all decided to remain located someplace else. This of course does not mean that you will find yourself dying of dysentery on the side of a dirt path with nothing but a moose to witness your suffering, but you might be a bit discouraged at some point to find that the nearest machiatto is 25 miles away down a dark road through a forest. We have done our best to compile a complete list of ways to get there, places to stay, and things to do in the area. Maine is a beautiful place to visit during the summer, and most people who travel there once fall in love with it and return time and time again. There is all the hiking, swimming, birdwatching, fishing, lobster-eating and sightseeing you could possibly want. Be sure to bring your hiking boots. Just remember though, some of the things we take for granted here in civilization are often not available in the great state of Maine, especially once you get north of Portland. So don’t expect to catch a bus to a downtown shopping district - there’s pretty much just one general store. But you’re going to love it, we promise!
