This cozy cocktail bar in Bucktown holds a special place in our hearts — it’s where we had our first date. Dark, intimate, and full of charm, it’s perfect for a pre-dinner drink or a late-night nightcap.
Our beloved neighborhood bar and the home of many Wednesday night date nights. We live just around the corner in Avondale, and this cozy little spot has made our new neighborhood feel like home.
A true gem — an oyster and caviar bar that somehow manages to feel both special and unpretentious. It's been one of our favorite spots to celebrate (or just treat ourselves for no reason at all). They have the best Oysters in the city. Sadly, it's closing in August, but if you're in town early, it's worth a visit.
A laid-back neighborhood spot with one of the best smash burgers in the city. Great beer list, no frills, and exactly the right call when you're craving something solid and easy.
Nothing hits quite like late-night tacos from La Pasadita. This no-frills taco joint has been a longtime favorite — fast, delicious, and exactly what you want after a night out.
One of the most unexpectedly fun nights you can have in Chicago. Hidden behind a laundromat façade, the Magic Lounge serves up craft cocktails, speakeasy vibes, and close-up magic. We've gone for date nights, group hangs, and “what should we do tonight?” moments — and it never disappoints.
An elevated walking and biking path that runs through several of our favorite neighborhoods. We've loved taking our dog for long walks here — it’s the perfect midday activity, especially when the weather cooperates. Grab a coffee and take a stroll; it’s our go-to reset button.
Bucktown - The neighborhood we've spent the most time in as a couple — charming streets, great bars, and easy access to the 606 Trail. Avondale - Our current neighborhood. We bought our house here last August and love exploring its hidden gems — including our go-to bar, Quality Time. Logan Square - Cool restaurants, low-key bars, vintage shops, and a great farmers market (when the city is not doing construction). West Loop - Home to Restaurant Row and where we went to high school. Come here hungry. Honorable Mentions: Andersonville and Old Town - Eli and Rachel's childhood neighborhoods.
